Lady Wolves Come Up Short In Malta

 

Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team dropped a 61-36 decision in Malta on Saturday, Jan. 21.

The Wolves got out to a 1411 lead in the first quarter, but Malta held a 27-20 half-time advantage.

Malta jumped out to a strong start in the third quarter, but a three-pointer by Mailey Wells and a drive by Katelyn MacDonald pulled the Wolves back to nine points.

Malta held a 46-29 advantage at the end of the period. Malta added 15 more points in the final period.

KJ St. Marks and J’Elle Garfield led the Wolves with seven points each.

Rounding out Wolf Point’s scoring were Keeley Blount-Henderson with six, Wells with five, MacDonald with four, Sierra Hamilton with three, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with two and Kaylee Johnson with two.

Leading Malta were Allison Kunze with 18 and Madison Williamson with 16 points.
