JOM Seeks Ideas For School Event

The Wolf Point Schools’ Johnson O’Malley committee is seeking ideas for a project at the junior high school in March.

Chair Rain Turcotte noted successful activities have already taken place at Southside and Northside elementary schools this school year.

“We’re looking at events that they would be interested in attending,” Turcotte said during the meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Suggestions included a round dance and a career panel featuring successful Native American leaders. Another idea was contacting consultant William Henry about his ideas for an activity.

JOM is preparing a survey to receive input from students regarding which activities they would be most interested in attending.

The next JOM meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the high school/junior high school library.
