Lions Sweep Contests Against Frazer
The Lustre Lions swept basketball games against Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 7.
Lustre’s girls downed the Bearcubs by a 52-39 margin.
The Lions took a 16-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Bearcubs closed the gap to 21-16 in the second quarter.
Lustre accounted for 16 points in the third quarter and 15 more in the fourth period for the league victory.
Leading the Lions were Grace Brown with 20 and Alexa Reddig with 18 points. Aubri Holzrichter scored 11 and Lauryn Holzrichter added three points.
Baily Beston led the Bearcubs with 12 points. Angeline White scored 11 points. Audrey Smoker and Shakira Beston had six points each. Angel Nelligan hit a three-pointer.
Lustre’s boys’ basketball team posted an 88-15 victory over Frazer.
The top-ranked Lions gained a 29-0 lead in the first quarter. Lustre held a 60-7 half-time advantage.
Leading scorers for Lustre were Jasiah Hambira with 18 points and Braden Ewing with 16. Alex Chen and Cam Reddig added 11 points each.
Also scoring were Johnslee Pierre with eight, Diek Olfert with seven, Byron Ewing with five, Elijah Lenihan with four, Gabe Alves with four, Cayden Klatt with three and Prestyn Klatt with two.
Frazer’s Ty Fourstar and Travis Long scored five points each. Cassius Smoker and Jarvis Goodbird had three points each.
