Lodging Revenue Up In Area
Gross lodging tax revenue continues to be climbing in Roosevelt County compared to in previous years.
Revenue collected is 4 percent of lodging price. The percentages listed are affected by rate increases, delinquencies and other factors.
Roosevelt County reported lodging revenue of $22,957 from July 1 through June 30 in 2022. That is a 23 percent increase from the $18,635 total for the same time period in 2021.
Figures for the quarter in prior years included $23,590 in 2017, $20,121 in 2018, $20,324 in 2019 and $15,609 in 2020.
The lodging revenue for the second quarter of 2022, April 1 to June 30, was 16 percent higher than in 2021. Overall, Roosevelt County is up by 17 percent for the year.
Valley County experienced an 18 percent drop to $55,201 compared to a banner year of $67,057 for the third quarter of 2021. Previous figures for the third quarter included $52,202 in 2018, $60,280 in 2019 and $52,393 in 2020.
Richland County reported an increase of 21 percent to $44,730 in the third quarter. The figure for the third quarter in 2021 was $37,071. Other years for the third quarter were $40,122 for 2017, $37,870 for 2018, $56,219 for 2019 and $29,015 for 2020.
