Johnson Faces Drug Possession Charge

Justin Ladd Johnson is facing a charge for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, after being arrested in Roosevelt County. He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Feb. 15.

If convicted, Johnson faces five years in prison, a $5,000 fine or both.

According to court documents, a search warrant was granted on Dec. 13, for a Pontiac Grand Prix registered to Johnson.

The search warrant was executed on Dec. 18. An officer noticed that the center console was not attached with the original screws or was missing screws. The officer also discovered that the center console moved from side to side.

Underneath the console, the officer located two individual bags that contained a crystal like substance. The first individual bag was a zip lock bag that was torn in half. In the bottom half of the zip lock bag contained a crystal like substance. The second bag was tied in a ball.

Substances in both bags were tested using the TruNarc Analyzer. They tested positive as methamphetamine.
