Poplar Girls Earn Victory In Harlem

Poplar’s girls’ basketball team cruised to a 60-39 league victory in Harlem on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The Indians trailed 10-8 at the end of the first quarter, but Poplar accounted for 20 points in the second period for a 28-21 advantage. Bailey Dupree scored seven points in the quarter and Cammie Martell connected on a pair of three-pointers.

Poplar added 17 more points in the third quarter for a 45-32 lead. Rikki Belton led the attack with seven points in the period.

Top scorers in the contest for the Indians were Braelyn Nordwick with 11, Morgen Nordwick with 10 and Belton with nine. C. Martell and Dupree added eight points each.

Rounding out the scoring were EmmaRae Martell with six, Kessee Erickson with five and Mattie Falls Down with three points.

Emma Billmayer accounted for 27 of Harlem’s points.
