Lions, Walleyes Unlimited Hold Lighting Contest
The Wolf Point Lions Club and Wolf Point chapter of Walleyes Unlimited conducted their annual Christmas lighting contest judging on Sunday, Dec. 18.
Earning first place in the lighting contest was Betty Moore of 931 Fourth Avenue North. Moore has won the contest several years since it began and is an annual participant.
Contest newcomer Raul Figueroa of 901 Fifth Avenue North placed second.
Receiving honorable mention awards were Arnold Ricker of 316 Edgar Street, Brenda Calder of 200 Idaho Street, Tom Granbois of 314 Indian Street, Bob Neumiller of 420 Johnson Street and Chris Evans of 108 Prospect Avenue.
Prizes in Wolf Point Chamber Shopping Dollars were given to the top five entries. First place received $125 in shopping dollars. Second received $75 in shopping dollars and all other placers received $50 in shopping dollars for honorable mentions.
The annual project encourages community residents to get into the holiday spirit and has been taking place since 2011.
The annual judging this year was complicated by the recent snowfall and wind-blown drifts. A rescue from Butch Sansaver was needed to pull the judges’ vehicle from the ditch.
