Froid/Lake Girls Defeat MonDak, Brockton

 

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks posted a 64-52 victory over MonDak to open their girls’ basketball season on Friday, Dec. 2.

The Red Hawks trailed by a 31-27 half-time margin, but Froid/Lake then scored 15 points in the third quarter for a 42-40 lead.

Froid/Lake pulled away with 22 points in the fourth quarter.

Leading Froid/Lake’s scoring attack were Dasani Nesbit with 25 and Baylee Davidson with 21 points. Mara Salvevold also reached double figures with 10 points.

Others scoring were Alexa Nelson with six, Addison Elvsaas with five and Jaeleigh Davidson with three points.

Leading the Thunder were Emma Smart with 21 and Kiarra Brunelle with 12 points.

Froid/Lake defeated Brockton, 55-25, in girls’ basketball action on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Red Hawks trailed 9-8 at the end of the first quarter and held a 17-15 half-time lead.

Froid/Lake then scored 15 points in the third quarter for a 32-20 advantage. Baylee Davidson scored seven points in the period.

The Red Hawks accounted for 23 points in the final period. Alexa Nelson and Brooklyn Nordwick each scored six in the quarter.

Top scorers for Froid/Lake in the game were Davidson with 15 and Dasani Nesbit with 12. Also scoring were Nelson with seven, Nordwick with six, Mara Salvevold with five, Addison Elvsaas with five, Jaeleigh Davidson with three and Lily Johnson with two points.

Leading Brockton were Courtney Spotted Wolf with eight points and Tamryn Bauer with six points.

The Red Hawks will compete at the Scobey Invitational this weekend.
