Wolf Point came up short against Glasgow at the District 2B volleyball tournament in Poplar on Friday, Oct. 28.

After each squad won matches earlier in the day, Glasgow defeated the Wolves by a 25-19, 25-20, 25-12, final.

In the first set, the Wolves fell behind early but cut the margin to 12-10 on the net play of Sierra Hamilton. Kills by Kylie Rodenberg and J’Elle Garfield kept the Wolves close at 17-14.

The Scotties, led by Carly Nelson, were able to increase their lead to 22-18. A kill by Piper Johnson ended the first set at 25-19.

Two hard serves by Kaleah Miller-Toves tied the second set at 4-4 for the Wolves. Glasgow gained a 14-8 lead, but Wolf Point responded with a kill by Hamilton. A back-row kill by Katelyn Mac-Donald pulled the Wolves to 18-15.

After Glasgow took a 22-18 advantage, the Wolves struck for two points on Rodenberg’s service. The Scotties scored the next three points to win the second set.

The Scotties jumped out to an 18-5 lead in the third set. Wolf Point then scored on kills by Keeley Blount-Henderson and Hamilton.

A block by Miller-Toves and a tip by Hamilton cut the margin to 21-11 before Glasgow took the 25-12 victory.
