Poplar Comes Up Short Against Ekalaka, 68-32

The Poplar football team put together a solid effort in its 68-32 loss at Ekalaka on Friday, Sept. 30.

Ekalaka led by a 42-20 halftime margin.

“We played really well,” Poplar Coach loe Hammar said.

Scoring touchdowns for the Indians were Kameron Reum on a run. Gage Berg on a kickoff return and a run and Adrian Matuck on a pass from Reum.

“Kameron Reum threw the ball well and also ran well,” Hammar said.

The play of the defensive line was a highlight for Poplar. Defensive standouts were Preston Ogle, Walker Bushia, Quinn Sutherland, Berg and Cameron Spotted Bird.

The Indians will play their homecoming game against Scobey on Saturday, Oct. 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
