Culbertson Council Approves Site Plans

The Culbertson Town Council held their regular meeting Monday, Sept. 12. Site/sketch plans were approved for Teril and Bev Raaum for a garage and Kara Halvorson for a 12 by 50 foot modular accessory structure.

A variance request was approved for an older model trailer home in the Wheatland Hills development for Paul Finnicum. The variance stipulates that Finnicum has one year to bring the structure up to code.

An event application was approved for the upcoming Homecoming parade, which has been set for Sept. 23.

Jeremy Fadness with WWC Engineering told the council that a floodplain permit application has been submitted as part of the MDT U.S. Highway 2 project.

Snow removal equipment for Big Sky Airport is expected to arrive this week.

The council discussed a pending Hazard Mitigation Plan designed to help identify risks in the area. Discussions are ongoing.

The council discussed possible uses for remaining American Rescue Plan Act monies available at the county level. Council members are considering putting in for funds to tackle a wastewater project near the southwest corner of Culbertson School.

Minutes for the Aug. 8 regular meeting were passed, as well as minutes for an Aug. 8 budget hearing. Payroll journal vouchers were approved, as were utility billing vouchers and August bills.

The next meeting of the Culbertson Town Council is set for Oct. 11.
