Bulls Score Win Over Wolf Point

The Wolf Point Yellow Jackets and Froid Agland Bulls split a double-header in Froid on Wednesday, June 22.

The pitching of Preston Swenson led Wolf Point to an 11-1 victory in Froid for the first game.

After Swenson scored on a passed ball in the top of the first, the Yellow Jackets accounted for six runs in the third inning. Scoring in the frame were Steel Dorrance, Brady Mirrel, Swenson, Andrew Dschaak, Logan Brown and Patton LaRoche.

Brown and LaRoche crossed the plate in the fifth inning. Swenson and Charlie Page came home in the top of the sixth.

The only run for Froid Agland came in the bottom of the third when Bridger Salvevold scored. Bode Miller tripled in the frame.

Miller and Braeden Romo each had two hits for the Bulls.

The Bulls won the second game, 8-7, in extra innings.

With the contest deadlocked at 7-7, the Bulls won the game when Miller crossed the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Each team tallied a run in the first inning. After Swenson scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first, Miller belted a homer in the bottom of the frame.

The Yellow Jackets moved ahead 3-1 in the third when Swenson and Dschaak scored. Agland’s Nate Hentges reached on an error and scored in the bottom of the third.

Wolf Point’s Page and Dschaak scored in the top of the fifth for a 5-2 advantage. Dorrane and Swenson scored in the sixth for a 7-2 game.

The Bulls got a run closer in the bottom of the sixth when Henry Kukowski singled and scored to cut the margin to 6-3. Javonne Nesbit connected for a double in the inning.

The Bulls tied the game with four runs in the seventh inning. Hentges, Kukowski, Romo and Salvevold scored for the Bulls to force extra innings.

Miller, Hentges and Kukowski each had two hits for the Bulls.

Page and Mitchell Brown accounted for three hits to lead the Yellow Jackets.
