The Wolf Point Little League ages 9-12 have started their season.

“We have 39 kids that I’m have signed up and about 34 that have been coming to practices,” Scott Vandall said. “We are excited to see these numbers and the kids are doing a good job of taking things in. We have had difficulty in the past few years. We are working on changing things in our approach.”

Goals are for the kids to enjoy playing baseball and build their skills and fundamentals.

“I believe we are starting to go in the right direction. We are wanting to organize a baseball committee. We have heard some interest in maybe starting a baseball traveling team,” Vandall said. “If we could get that going, that would be great. But that would probably change our season some. Our goal is to become a good feeder program to our Babe Ruth and then to the Legion team.”

He’s glad that parents are volunteering and helping out.

“We really relay on them. We need them and the community to help out. There is a place that we can use help. We are looking forward to this year and getting started. We are planning on skills and drills for them one day a week in the morning. I can’t recall the age groups for that. But we will keep people posted on the Wolf Point City Recreation page,” Vandall said.
