Montana Lifespan Respite Voucher Program Offered
The Lifespan Respite program is geared toward assisting with planned or emergency care provided to an individual who has a need for support and supervision in order to provide temporary relief to the primary caregiver of that individual. Respite may include in-home care, companionship or outings.
How does the Voucher Program work? The program offers financial compensation to a caregiver who has limited finances to hire a replacement for a temporary break for the primary caregiver.
• An application must be submitted.
• A caregiver strain index is completed.
• Funding is available but may require a co-pay based on a sliding scale fee according to income.
• There has to be a primary caregiver (they are the one who applies and who is reimbursed).
• Vouchers are for a maximum of $700 per calendar year.
• Respite provider must be 18 years of age or older.
• Respite provider cannot live in the same household as the person for whom care is given.
• Respite vouchers may be used to help pay for respite care in a facility.
• A satisfaction survey must be completed and returned.
