Cowboys, Cowgirls Fare Well At Fairview Invite

 

Culbertson tuned up for the district track meet by competing at the Fairview Invitational on Thursday, May 5.

The Cowboys scored 73 points for third place in the boys’ standing. Plentywood took first with 112 points while Richey/Lambert placed second with 95 points.

The Cowgirls took sixth with 28 points. The top three teams were Fairview with 117, Plentywood with 92 and Savage with 59 points.

Culbertson’s boys’ 400-meter relay team featuring Wyatt Snyder, Payton Perkins, Kobe Nickoloff and Kyler Kempton finished first with a time of 47.95 seconds.

The Cowboys fared well in the shot put as Colin Avance took second at 42-5, Aiden Perkins placed third at 41-3, Justice Bengochea took fourth at 41-0 and Kempton was sixth at 39-6. P. Peyton took ninth at 36-3 and Hugh Donaldson was 10th at 36-1.

In the discus, A. Perkins earned third place at 127-7 and Nickoloff placed fourth at 123-3. Also placing were Bengochea in fourth at 119-4, Avance in sixth at 116-7 and Kempton in seventh at 113-9.

The Cowboys also scored well in the javelin as Nickoloff earned second at 163-5 and Kempton took fourth at 137-1.

Nickoloff earned third in the long jump with a best of 18-11 and finished fifth in the 100 at 12.64 seconds. James Kirkaldie cleared 5-4 for sixth place in the high jump.

Reese Moon took fifth in the 100 at 12.64 and fourth in the 200 at 25.35 seconds. Trevor Ewack finished sixth in the 3200 at 15:07.65. Snyder was seventh in the 100 at 12.73 seconds and Kirkaldie took seventh in the 1600 at 5:29.36.

Autumn Bergum led the Cowgirls by placing second in the 100 at 13.62 seconds, second in the long jump at 14-5, fourth in the triple jump at 31-0 and sixth in the javelin at 75-1.

Destiny Thompson earned fourth in the javelin at 79-6, sixth in the 200 at 29.7 and seventh in the 100 at 14.17 seconds.

Serenity Wilbanks finished fifth in the 800 at 4:13.85.
