Wolf Point Cheerleaders Win Title At Competition

The Wolf Point High School cheerleaders came away with top honors from the Great Northern Cheer and Dance Championships held in Helena during the weekend.
“I was pretty confident because they have been working hard on it,” Wolf Point’s advisor Nellie Garfield said.
The competition featured squads from Class B schools.
Scores were based on stunts, pyramids and energy.
Wolf Point scored very well in crowd leadership partly thanks to strong support from the girls’ parents.
“Our cheer parents were so loud,” Garfield said. “They did a great job.”
She looks forward to Wolf Point’s cheerleaders working to qualify for nationals in the future.
“Competition is such a good experience,” Garfield said. “I think they are more hungry now.”
The squad will have tryouts near the end of May. They will attend a camp in Missoula during July.
