Lady Wolves Set Sights On Divisional Opponents
Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team will shoot for one of three state berths during the divisional tournaments that starts Thursday, March 3, in Cut Bank.
The Wolves will open against Conrad at 6:30 p.m. Other first-round games feature Malta against Shelby at 1 p.m., Glasgow facing Cut Bank at 2:30 p.m. and Harlem meeting Fairfield at 8 p.m.
Wolf Point Coach Frank Benson says Conrad’s squad features the combination of 6-1 Brae Eneboe and 6-0 Tala Eneboe.
“They like to slow it down and go inside,” Benson said.
Conrad’s top outside shooting threat is Maggie Bender.
The Cowgirls’ season has included wins against Choteau, Rocky Boy and Shelby at the district tournament. Conrad entered the tournament as the sixth seed and placed third at the tourney.
“They have been playing well lately,” Benson said.
Malta and Fairfield are the district champions heading into the tournament.
Wolf Point comes into the tournament as the second seed from District 2B.
“We will try to run our offense better and move without the ball,” Benson said.
