Golfers Participate In NEMHS Tournament

Area golfers took to the links to have a good time and benefit area health care during the NEMHS’s 24th annual golf tournament held at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Club on Saturday, June 26.
Tournament manager Rodney Paulson, who is also a director of the NEMHS Charitable Foundation, was pleased with the turnout of 18 teams.
This year’s tournament was dedicated to the memory of Sharon Dschaak.
In the summer of 1997, Dschaak, who was an educational department director nurse at Wolf Point’s Trinity Hospital, teamed up with Dennis Heser to plan and execute the first benefit golf tournament at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Club.
Dschaak and Heser held the event for the first nine years. The purpose of the event was to provide extra funding for medical supplies and equipment for the hospitals.
When the NEMHS Charitable Foundation was formed in 2006, the responsibility of the golf tournament was transferred to the foundation’s board of directors.
Dschaak died April 9, 2021.
A number of volunteers helped make the event a success.
Major sponsors for the tournament were Buckhorn Bar and Cafe, Main Street Grocery, Marco’s, Nemont, Opportunity Bank and the Swap Shop.
