The Wolf Point boys’ track team came through with its most successful divisional track meet in recent history by placing second in Glasgow on Saturday, May 22.

The Wolves earned 103 points at the Northern B divisional meet. Fairfield won the divisional title with 114.

Cut Bank took third with 70 points while Glasgow scored 55 points for fourth and Conrad had 45 points for fifth place.

Zander Ackerman led the way for the Wolves by winning divisional titles in the 800, 1600 and 3200.

The senior said his highlight of the day was digging deep for the last 200 meters of the 1600.

Ackerman’s times were 2:01.85 in the 800, 4:39.74 in the 1600 and 10:06.98 in the 3200.

Heading into this weekend’s state meet, Ackerman was asked about his goals. “Just go out and perform,” he said.

Kaholo Toves had a strong meet as the senior earned second in the long jump with a mark of 19-03 and finished third in the 200 at 23.98 seconds.

Austin Wilson finished second in the 400 at 53.32 seconds, fourth in the 100 at 12.06 seconds and fourth in the 200 at 24.22 seconds.

Peyton Summers, a freshman, placed second in the 3200 at 10:13.54 and third in the 1600 at 4:46.23.

Ethan Blount, a senior, qualified for state with a fourth in the 1600 at 4:56.52 fifth in the 3200 at 10:45.47.

Kholby SpottedWolf placed third in the 3200 at 10:36.92 and fifth in the 1600 at 4:58.23. August Spotted Wolf earned fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:10.46.

The 400-meter relay team featuring Toves, Mason Garfield, Maddox Reum and Wilson finished second with a time of 46.72 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Wilson, Toves, August Spotted Wolf and Ackerman took fourth in 3:39.45.

Mason Garfield earned sixth in the shot put with a mark of 41-04.

The Class B state meet takes place Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29, in Laurel.
