Shelby’s Boys Capture Divisional Title

Shelby’s boys’ basketball squad knocked off Fairfield, 50-33, in the championship game of the Northern B divisional basketball tournament in Cut Bank Saturday, March 6.

Shelby jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first quarter and 25-16 half-time advantage.

Leading the Coyotes were Logan Leck with 21 points and Rhett Reynolds with 12 points.

Gavin Mills had nine points to lead Fairfield.

Harlem outscored Malta, 72-54, in the third-place contest.

The Wildcats gained a 19-12 lead in the first quarter. After leading 37-24 at the half, the Wildcats tallied 24 points in the third quarter for a 61-37 advantage.

Top scorers for Harlem were Tyler Cichosz with 30 and RJ Ramone with 21 points.

Leading Malta were Rex Williamson with 19 and Kooper Oxarart with 14 points.

Semi-final round games included Fairfield downing Malta, 47-42, and Shelby beating Rocky Boy, 67-64.
