First Friday Fish Fry Sells Out

The first installment of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church’s Four Friday Fish Fry fundraiser events in Culbertson was well attended March 6, earning nearly $1,500 before supplies ran out.

According to Bruce Houle, approximately 120 meals were sold at the fundraiser.

“We didn’t even get a plate,” said Houle, who volunteered at the annual event.

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring the sales at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Culbertson every Friday during March, March 13, 20 and 27.

This is the group’s 125th fish fry and organizers like to think of Culbertson as the fish fry capital of the world because of the ever- popular event.

Suzette Houle contributed by designing and sewing a quilt for a Women’s Altar Society fundraiser drawing. She picked the fabric and did the initial sewing before turning it over to Dar’s Designs in Culbertson for finishing touches. Tickets will be on sale through the first week in November.

Menu items at the fish fry includes Alaskan pollock, baked potatoes with sour cream, beans, buns and your choice of drink. Takeout is available.

Meals will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church hall. Prices run from a flat $12 per plate to $35 for a family. Dessert is included.

All are welcome to attend this annual fundraiser and community event.
