Crash Near Nashua Sends Four To FMDH

A head-on collision near Nashua sent four locals to Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow Saturday, Jan. 4. The Montana Highway Patrol was called at 9:20 p.m.

According to MHP Sgt. Jeff Kent, a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup was traveling west in the ditch on the south side of U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 562 approximately seven miles east of Nashua when it emerged onto the roadway and struck on an oncoming Ford F-550 bucket truck.

The driver of the Sierra was a 63-year-old Nashua resident. He was ejected from the vehicle and taken to FMDH with serious injuries, along with a 29-year-old female passenger from Frazer. The driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The bucket truck was driven by a 36-year-old male from Glasgow. He was transported to FMDH by law enforcement with no apparent injuries. A 43-year-old male passenger, also from Glasgow, was transported to FMDH with minor injuries.

MHP trooper David Moon was the investigating officer. He was assisted by the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, EMS and multiple fire units from area departments.

Names are being held while the incident remains under investigation.

Sgt. Kent said citations are pending results from toxicology tests.
