Montanans can open a medical care savings account or make deposits into existing MSAs before Dec. 31 to reduce their state income taxes for 2024, according to Marsha Goetting, Montana State University Extension family economics specialist.
MSA account holders may deposit up to $4,500 to use for eligible medical expenses.
A person with taxable income over $20,500 could save approximately $265

Election results in Valley County included Jeff Alsberg being elected to an open seat as a county commissioner.
Alsberg received 60 percent of the vote compared to Mitch Willett’s 40 percent.
Republican Eric Albus defeated Blake Borst by a 77-23 percent margin for the House District #28 seat.
Elected were Gregg Hunter as the State Senator for District 15 and Valerie Moore for the State
