Elks Memorial Service Planned

The annual Elks memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. This annual event, which is open to the public, honors local Elks members who have died in the past year as well as all who have gone before. The community is encouraged to come pay their respects to lodge treasurer Larry Greufe and other members who have passed in the previous year. The short memorial service is followed

Montana Revenue Department Says Property Taxes Could Rise Again

Montana Department of Revenue staff told a legislative committee Monday, Nov. 18, that next year’s reappraisal cycle could produce a partial repeat of last year’s jarring tax spike as the state’s surging real estate market continues to translate into higher residential taxes. Poplar FFA Attends Ag Expo In Bozeman

Poplar FFA advisor Ted Fulgham is excited that the school’s chapter was represented at the Montana State University’s Ag Days contest this November. “This was the first time for many of the members to compete in any FFA contest,” Fulgham said. “The members also got to take tours of the Museum of the Rockies.” Other tours included the MSU campus and the new Native American building

With Judge Katherine Bidegaray heading to the Montana Supreme Court, Gov. Greg Gianforte is calling for applicants and nominations for the vacancy in the Seventh Judicial District. The judicial district is comprised of Dawson, Prairie, McCone, Richland and Wibaux counties. The Governor’s Office said any lawyer in good standing who has the qualifications for holding the office may apply
