The Poplar Indians took a strong Malta volleyball squad to five sets before losing the home conference match on Friday, Oct. 11. Malta came away with a 19-25, 25-9, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12 victory. Braelyn Nordwick led Poplar’s attack with 17 kills and five blocks. Angelina Escarcega accounted for 36 digs. Rebecca Gorder finished with 29 assists. Lilliana O’Neal served three aces.
