Library Board Moves Forward With Signage Upgrades

The Roosevelt County Library Board held their regular meeting via Zoom Oct. 24. The following board members were in attendance: Beth Hekkel, library chairperson; Gloria Mason, vice-chair; trustees Sue Snitker and Helen Welte, and Janet Livingston, library director. Froid branch librarian Sheri Harvey, Culbertson’s Leona Colvin and Montana Statewide Consulting Librarian Suzanne Reymer also attended.

Rauch Makes Last Stop For Wolf Point Students

After being one of the dedicated bus drivers in Wolf Point to make sure students arrive at school on time, Virgil Rauch has decided to retire after 46 years of service. “I never thought I would drive that long,” Rauch said. “I thought it was just something to do part-time.” The Wolf Point School District held a retirement party in honor of Rauch on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Roosevelt County will receive $10,723 in funding from Department of Justice grants aimed to fight and prevent violent crime. The grants were awarded by the Department’s Office of Justice Program. MDU To Close Sidney Power Plant

The Montana Public Service Commission has moved forward with Montana Dakota Utilities’ decision to close it coal-fired power plant in Sidney during 2021. The agreement includes MDU to retire its coal-fired electric generation units at the Lewis and Clark station in Sidney during March 2021. IHS Reports Active Cases Down, 25 Deaths

As of Monday, Nov. 2, Roosevelt County had 68 current active cases of COVID-19. A total of cases with 30 deaths have been reported. There were two new positive cases in the county. As of Tuesday, Nov. 3, there were 69 active cases of COVID-19 in Indian Health Service-eligible persons living on the Fort Peck Reservation. Twenty-five tribally enrolled members have died from COVID-19-related causes.
