FPCC Receives $161,200 USDA Grant

The United States Department of Agriculture is investing $1,169,734 in the seven tribal colleges in rural Montana. Fort Peck Community College in Poplar was awarded $161,200 through USDA Rural Development’s Tribal College Initiative Grant program.

FPCC received $161,200 to purchase equipment to assist maintenance and upkeep on the college. The college plans to purchase three maintenance vehicles, two trailers and a skid steer loader.

Over the last 10 years, USDA has supported Montana tribal colleges with over $11 million in direct grants to support campus facilities, equipment and infrastructure.

“I’m pleased to announce the Trump Administration’s recent investment in Fort Peck Community College. Assiniboine and Sioux students will enjoy campus improvements that will contribute to their educational success,” said Montana state director Charles Robison.
