Combined Church Choir To Kick Off Season

On Aug. 7, the Wolf Point combined church choir will kick off the new season. The choir will meet at the First Baptist Church on Third Avenue North for a potluck picnic and short rehearsal. The meal will begin at 5 p.m., so bring a dish to share. Brisket, beans and drinks will be provided. Organizers are looking forward to opportunities to sing old and new music. Roosevelt County Has 20 Active COVID Cases, Valley Has 29

As of Monday, July 25, Roosevelt County has 20 active COVID cases. There are no current hospitalization. There have been 75 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths. Adult (12 years and up) COVID vaccination clinics are scheduled for Thursday, July 28 from 3-5 p.m. in Culbertson, Aug. 4 from 3-5 p.m. in Wolf Point, Aug. 18 from 3-5 p.m. in Wolf Point and Aug. 25 from 3-5 p.m. in Culbertson. Supreme Court Voids Sanctions, Contempt Order Against OPD

The Montana Supreme Court unanimously decided last week to void sanctions and a contempt order filed earlier this year against the Office of State Public Defenders by a Yellowstone County district judge. In the past year, Yellowstone County District Judge Donald Harris twice found OPD in contempt of court for not promptly assigning counsel to defendants, resulting in $24,000 worth of fines.
