Nineteen gymnasts from Eastern Montana Gymnastics competed on Jan. 14-15 in Kalispell at the Glacier Challenge. John Laverdure


John Laverdure, 62, of Wolf Point died Jan. 14, 2023. He was born Feb. 17, 1960, to Esther (King) Yellow Owl. He loved to help people and give to the people, even if he went without. He loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories, watching scary movies and digging roots. He loved spending time with Steve drinking coffee and going for rides to make sure everyone was happy and taken care of and that everything was on the right path. He loved cooking, making soup and bread, but hated cleaning. His hobby was firefighting and going places. He fought fires for 18 years. He loved talking about the mountains to anyone who would take the time to listen. He loved life and worked very hard to make every day count. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angel Garfield; first wife, Danielle Margie Delorme; mother, Esther (King) Yellow Owl; brothers, Pat and Emile Laverdure; sisters, Robin and Tanya White Hawk and Karen Yellow Owl; and his stepson, Carter Lilley. He is survived by his three daughters, Erica Swift Eagle, Sandy and Megan; and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 20, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment was at King Cemetery in Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
