The Lustre Lions had a promising start to their season at the Culbertson volleyball invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30. After dropping matches against Culbertson and Fairview in pool play, the Lions bounced back with a straight set victory over Nashua. Wolf Point’s volleyball team opened its season at a tournament in Shelby and Choteau during the weekend. During the first round of action, the Wolves defeated Simms, 21-20, 21-19. Firstround losses came against Ennis, Shelby and Manhattan. The Wolves earned victories over Havre’s JVs, 21-19, 21-18, Cut Bank, 21-18, 21-16, and Lodge Grass, 21-11, 21-10, during second-round action.
