Morgan Necklace
Morgan Marie Necklace, 28, of Poplar, died Dec. 17, 2020, in Poplar.
She was born May 25, 1992, to Thomas John Necklace and Christina Nig Bear in Bismarck, N.D. She lived in Bismarck, N.D.; Williston, N.D.; and Billings. She made her home in Poplar. She did her education in Bismarck, N.D., Billings and Culbertson. In 2010, she graduated from Culbertson High School.
She worked at Hermen Oil, Subway, Holiday Inn, as correctional officer, Tribal Express and Corriotion.
She loved being around her babies, Kendall, Kylie and Phaedra, family and friends. She also enjoyed cruising around in her truck, fishing, swimming, watching friends, playing horse shoes and camping at pow-wows. She was shy and sweet and always smiling.
She is survived by her children, Kendall, Kylie and Phaedra of Poplar; brothers, Alex Necklace of Billings and Cody Big Bear of Fort Yates, N.D.; sister, Cherish Big Bear of Fort Yates, N.D.; companion, Bucky Youngman of Poplar; grandparents, Ruth Necklace of Poplar and Lorene Michels of Fargo, N.D.; and greatgreat- grandmother, Doris Spotted Bird of Brockton.
Her funeral was held Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment followed at the Fort Kipp Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Steven Douglas Jr.
Steven Alvin Douglas Jr., “Standing Bear” (Mató Názi), 41, of Wolf Point died Dec. 14, 2020, in Wolf Point.
He was born March 25, 1979, to Darlene FourStar-Gray and Steven Douglas Sr. in Wolf Point. He lived in Hays, Billings and Wolf Point.
He was a talented artist. In his younger year,s he did calligraphy writing by memory with Old English writing being his favorite. He made his own tattoo guns and with his artistic ability he gave many of his friends and relatives tattoos.
He loved listening to music, cruising and watching movies with his family. He loved to go to pow-wows and was looking forward to taking his Little Man Michael. He liked to go house-to-house and visit his family. He was always good to talk to and was a good listener. He was always willing to help his family and anyone in need. He was always very respectful to his elders and everyone.
In 1995, he met Donessa RedBoy and together they had his only daughter, Shandarra Bernice Douglas.
On Aug. 16, 2018, his “Little Man” Michael Wayne Alexander Herrera was born. He loved taking care of him, playing with him and taking him outside to play. Michael’s face would always light up when he saw his grandpa.
He is survived by his daughter, Shandarra Douglas; one grandson; sisters, Marva Buillchief, Emoree Gray and Myra Weston.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirlene Bullchief; and brother, Marvin Bullchief Jr.
A private family funeral was held. Burial was at Box Elder Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

New Student Organzation At WPHS Focuses On School Morale, Spirit
A new organization at Wolf Point High School is aiming to increase school morale and spirit.

Bigger Sky Kids Receives Grant For McIntyre
Bigger Sky Kids’ has received notice of a 2020 grant in support of local painter Cathryn McIntyre from the Montana Arts Council. The artist-in-schools-and-community grant will add 12 classes to McIntyre’s 2021 schedule.
