He was born in Circle on April 17, 1954, and grew up on Prairie Elk, attending Prairie Elk School and graduating from Circle High School in 1972. From his youngest days, his musical talent and genuine interest in people made him a friend of many. His ready smile and wave will be missed in the Circle community

Robert Belton, 56, of Wolf Point died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, in Billings. He was born Dec. 5, 1963, in Wolf Point to Ronald Belton and Beatrice Redwood Belton. He attended school in Poplar and was a devout Poplar Indian. He was a All-State player and he received a full athletic scholarship. He graduated from Poplar High School in 1982. Jennifer Lynn Forest, 40, passed away in her home in Manteo, N.C., on Aug. 15, 2020. Jennifer was born in Williston, N.D., to Connie Forest of Jarvisburg, N.C., and Michael (Laura) Forest of Peerless, Mont. Jennifer graduated from North Eastern High School in 1999. She worked during high school but later got a job with Food Lion and she only worked four months before being promoted to manager.

Trenton Houston Beston Sr., “Red Bottom Leader,” 24, of New Town, N.D., died Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, near Williston, N.D., on his way to meet his parents. His son, Enright, also died. He was born April 26, 1996, to Janeen Firemoon and Darrell Beston Sr. in Wolf Point. He loved fishing, construction work, getting wood for his parents, cooking and taking his cruises with his children,

Leslie Kay Keiser, 16, died Friday evening, Aug. 28, 2020. Her life was cut too short. She had a saying in her room that said “Don’t be so sad. It’s such a waste of time.” She was born on Dec. 5, 2003, in Wolf Point to Ronald Glenn Keiser Jr. and Natalie Dawn Hempel Keiser. She attended school in Wolf Point, but dropped out during the eighth grade. She was planning to get her GED.

Poplar Cross Country Team Competes At Sidney Meet


Poplar's Hudson Atkinson succeeded on one of his steps to recovery at the Sidney Invitational cross-country meet on Saturday, Aug. 29. After winning the state championship in 2018, Atkinson was sidelined with an injury last season. “It was very warm,” Atkinson said after Saturday's finish at the season-opening meet. “Coming off surgery isn't easy. I have a long ways to go.”

Wolves Boys Take Fourth At Sidney Cross Country Meet


The Wolf Point Wolves emerged with a fourth-place showing on the boys' side at the large Sidney Invitational cross-country meet that featured Class A, B and C teams on Saturday afternoon. The Wolves accounted for 87 points. The top three teams were Lewistown with 54, Miles City with 79 and Laurel with 85 points. Wolf Point's senior Zander Ackerman won his wave and finished fourth
