BIA, FBI Reach New Agreement
The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced an agreement on Thursday, Dec. 1, that updates guidelines to provide for the effective and efficient administration of criminal investigations in Indian Country. This is the first update since the early 1990s to a memorandum of understanding between the bureaus.
The agreement was highlighted by Attorney General Merrick

Man Faces Fourth DUI Charge
Arther Lee Chapman is facing the charges of driving under the influence, fourth or subsequent offense, failure to carry proof of insurance, second offense, and operating with an expired registration.
When a traffic stop was conducted in Culbertson on Nov. 23, Chapman admitted to a Montana Highway Patrol officer that the vehicle was not registered and did not have insurance.

Michaelsen Faces Drug, Animal Cruelty Charges
Thea Jo Michaelsen is facing 14 charges including three felonies. Misdemeanor charges include 10 counts of cruelty to animals.
Felony charges are criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute meth, criminal possession of dangerous drugs (fentanyl) and criminal possession of dangerous drugs (meth). Michaelsen is also facing a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fort Kipp Woman Sentenced For Involuntary Manslaughter
A Fort Kipp woman, who admitted to striking and killing a man with her vehicle on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, was sentenced last week to 18 months in prison, to be followed by two years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
Joanna Sayetsitty, 35, pleaded guilty in August to involuntary manslaughter. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided in the case.
Fort Kipp Woman Sentenced For Involuntary Manslaughter
A Fort Kipp woman, who admitted to striking and killing a man with her vehicle on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, was sentenced last week to 18 months in prison, to be followed by two years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.

Piocos Voter Registration Canceled
Roosevelt County Clerk and Recorder Cheryl Hansen said Monday, Dec. 5, that her office had completed its investigation in to the complaint filed claiming that Roosevelt County Attorney Frank Piocos falsely filed as an elector.
She said that Piocos had been sent notice that his voter registration had been canceled.
