Russell John Hollow Horn, 59, of Poplar died Jan. 5, 2023. He was born April 4, 1963, in Poplar to Stanley and Irene (Smith) Hollow Horn. He attended school in Poplar and, in 1996, earned his GED in Pine Ridge, S.D. He worked various jobs, which included ESCO, A& S Industries, nursing home in Chadron, Neb., Tuba City School kitchen in Arizona and Prairie Wind Casino in South Dakota. In 2000, he moved back to Wounded Knee, S.D., to help his older brother Stanley in his ministry at the Church of God until he moved back to Poplar. He was always a joy to have around, quick to laugh, kindhearted, caring and gentle, who was loved by all who knew him. He touched hearts and made many friends wherever he went. He was also very talented at beading and made many beautiful cross necklaces and key chains, which he gave away as gifts to family and
