After three legs of the 1600-meter relay race at the Northern B divisional track meet Saturday, May 22, no one thought Wolf Point’s girls had a chance to finish in first place.
The Wolves were in seventh place and quite a distance away from the leading two runners.
Again, no one thought they had a hope for first place. No one except for one person.

She was the daughter of Howard and Opal Jensen and resided in Cut Bank, Mont., at the time of her passing on Nov. 20, 2020, from COVID-19.
A reception will follow at First Lutheran Church.

After a tight race during the first 500 meters, Poplar’s Jazmin Gorder broke away to win the divisional championship for the 800-meter run in Glasgow on Saturday, May 22.
The junior ran down the stretch with a large smile on her face as her winning 2:26.64 time allowed her to win by a comfortable margin.
