A Fort Kipp woman, who admitted to striking and killing a man with her vehicle on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, was sentenced last week to 18 months in prison, to be followed by two years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said. Joanna Sayetsitty, 35, pleaded guilty in August to involuntary manslaughter. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided in the case.

Roosevelt County reported 24 active COVID cases as of Tuesday, Dec. 6. There have been 3,770 total cases in the county. On Monday, Dec. 5, Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point reported that six residents and three staff had tested positive. Faith Home continues to be on outbreak status.
