Mary Ellen (Ellerkamp) and Bob Fossum celebrated their 59th anniversary with family at a party hosted at Ron and Sharon Matney’s residence in Culbertson Sept. 7. The couple were married Sept. 6, 1974, at the same location back when the property belonged to Mary Ellen’s parents. “I thought it most appropriate that they return to the place where it all began,” Sharon told the Community News.

Continuing his efforts to support local farmers and irrigators, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester sent a letter to fellow Congressional appropriators, urging them to include language in the Fiscal Year 2025 Energy Water Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act ensuring that no costs fall on local irrigators to operate and maintain the Lower Yellowstone Intake Bypass Channel.
