The Roosevelt County commissioners approved 17 resolutions to declare the existence of several county roads on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The roads declared to be used by the public were 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1006, 2043, 2044, 2045, 2049, 2054, 2057 and 45 North. All of the roads are north of Bainville. Roosevelt County resident and Northern Plains Independent publisher Darla Downs has filed an affidavit of individual challenging an elector with the Roosevelt County clerk and recorder that claims Roosevelt County Attorney Frank Piocos falsely filed as an elector for the 2022 election. Downs claims that Piocos, who ran unopposed in the Nov. 8 election, falsely claimed 202 Broadway Ave. Apartment

Rep. Rhonda Knudsen, R-Culbertson, was voted speaker pro tempore by Republicans in the Montana House of Representatives last week. Knudsen recently won reelection in House District 34.
