The sale and lighting of fireworks on the Fort Peck Reservation is prohibited as of June 11. In a letter from Jamie McKee, acting superintendent for the U.S. Department of the Interior, to Fort Peck Tribal Chairman Justin Gray Hawk Sr., McKee wrote that due to high winds, fire personnel critically low and red flag warnings, fire restrictions are recommended by the BIA Fire Management for the Fort

The field has been set for municipal elections in Roosevelt County. Filing deadline was at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11. Sheri Crain has filed for re-election as mayor in Froid. Candidates filing for the two council positions up for election in Froid are incumbent Tyler Harris, incumbent Laurie Young, Robert Corbell and Penny Ryder. Culbertson Mayor Todd Gabriel has filed for re-election.
