The Bainville Town Council held its regular meeting Monday, Oct. 11. Clerk Nikki Rogers stated that ballots were mailed Oct. 18 for the municipal election. A nuisance complaint was received regarding area dogs and a new rooster. During the public works report, the council reviewed Gracie’s plan for a low-pressure sanitary sewer service connection to the town’s sanitary sewer forcemain.

Roosevelt County commissioners discussed a resolution on Tuesday, Oct. 19, that would put $60,000 from the county building fund to the public safety fund in order to pay for utilities at the new jail. Commissioner Gordon Oelkers requested the resolution because of sheriff’s office budget concerns. The office has been receiving less funds from the community of Poplar as well as less revenue than

A Culbertson man is facing a district court charge after alleged incidents in Eastern Montana during January 2020. Trevor Levi Crain has been charged with unlawful possession or shipping or transportation of a game animal. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Wednesday, Nov. 10. If convicted of the charge, maximum penalties are five years in prison, a $50,000 fine or both.
