Turns Around Sees Increased Attendance


The 18th annual Turns Around Celebration is in the books. The Poplar-based powwow took place Aug. 15-17. Attendance has been growing for the last few years and visitors were treated to uncharacteristically cool weather and a green landscape for the summertime event. Grand entries and a variety of dance contests and specials were held Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 7 p.m.

Wolf Point’s Flag Football Program Looks Forward To Second Season


The Wolf Point Lady Wolves are excited to open their second year competing in flag football. Returning starters for the team include Addy Smith, Teagan Williams, Anna Matejovsky, Marley Moran, Harper Weeks, Navy Weeks, Elli Ryan, McKinlee Paulson and Kai Villaluz. Local Man Makes Successful Return To State Games


More than two years after suffering a stroke, area resident Darryl Ricker Sr. was back at his home away from home this summer. He has been a competitor at the Big Sky State Games for years and he was happy to finally return to run in Billings this past July. He said some fellow competitors were pleased to see the return of the 65 year old. “Some of them thought I died,” Ricker laughed.
