Two emotional awards highlighted the 2021 Wolf Point Chapter’s Walleyes Unlimited banquet held at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center on Saturday, March 20.
Nancy Hopson was the recipient of the Outstanding Member of the Year award. This marked the first time that such an honor was awarded by the chapter.
“She has become the engine that makes this run,” chapter member Steve Harada said.

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen is leading the charge with 20 other states in suing to overturn President Biden’s cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline.
Knudsen, a native of Culbertson, said during a national interview on Fox News that Biden is “pandering to coastal elite friends” with the decision to shutdown the pipeline.

Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Ellerton and his dog Hati have been trained and certified to serve the department as a K9 drug detection and search team. Hati was trained by Nine Realms Canine Training in Spokane, Wash., and paired with Ellerton at the beginning of March. The pair are certified through American Society of Canine Trainers in narcotics detection and tracking.
