Civic-Minded College Students Recognized With Volunteer Award The Montana Student Volunteer Award is presented through a partnership between the Governor’s Office of Community Service and Montana Campus Compact campuses. Honorees of this annual award are college students across the state who demonstrate dedication to service in their communities while pursuing a college degree or certificate.

Every year, Reach Higher Montana holds a competition to allow students to use their creative side to win scholarship dollars. The competition asks students to design a sticker that helps pass along the message to fellow students to find their path after high school. The top two designers will each receive a $1,500 scholarship. The third and fourth place designers will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Nakoda Dakota Oyate Youth Council is hosting a Valentine’s Day talent show Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Chrome in Poplar. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Competition is open to all comers and prizes will be awarded. NDO is a group of youth leaders from across the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Reservation.
