Delores Youngman


Delores “Dee” Youngman, 74, of Poplar died Feb. 3, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Douglas Sr. and Eva Iron Ring Youngman. She had six children: Gene Glen, Dewayne Allen, Cody D. Youngman, Cerise Roberts and Michael Kashube. She had 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She graduated with her GED from Glasgow Air Force Base. She went on to college in Albuquerque, N.M., then MSU Tech in Billings. She worked at A& S Industries for many years. On Dec. 31, 1993, she met Jesus. She went with evangelists Joe and Verna Bull Chief. She traveled and held Bible studies along the West Coast for about a year. She returned to Poplar in 1994 and worked at the New Life Mission, cooking for the people which she loved doing. She worked at various jobs, sharing the word of God with her kind, loving, compassionate smile and caring spirit. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Cerise; one sister Victoria M. Youngman; and brothers, De-Wayne Darrell and Thomas Sr. Youngman. She is survived by her children, Gene, Dewayne and Cody Youngman and Michael Kashube, Leon Lambert “Baby Boy,” who she raised as her own, and Emmett Buckles III; sisters, Eloise, Izzy and Wilma Donna Youngman; brothers, Cyril Iron Ring and Douglas Youngman Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 15, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment was at Box Elder Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Longee

Mildred Longee


Mildred Longee, 72, of Poplar died at the Poplar Community Hospital on Feb. 4, 2022. “Mama Midge” as she was known by many was born on Dec. 9, 1949, to Elsie Long Lone and William Longee. She was a hard worker most of her life, even working for Norman and Vera Hollow in her early 20s. She worked various jobs until 2001, when she started cooking for Senior Feeding Program. She worked there until a couple months before her death. She attended Fort Peck Community and attained her GED there in the early 1990s. She met Bobby Foot and later parted. To this union, she had Sarah Conquering Bear. She would later meet Eugene Hale Sr. They married and later divorced, but continued to remain friends. To this union, they had Anita Hale and Eugene Hale Jr. She met Edward “Boy” Jones and had two girls with him, Tanya Nation and Priscilla Jones. They would later separate. She then met Steven “Sawhorn” Jones Jr., and had two children, Sonia and Steven Jones. They remained together until his death in 1984. She later reconciled with Edward “Boy” Jones and had another daughter, Jennifer Jones. They remained together until his death in 1988. She was a quiet type of person until you got to know her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working, reading, fixing puzzles, doing puzzle books, playing machines and spending time with friends or whoever stopped by to visit and sit with her to put a couple pieces of puzzle in with her. She was preceded in death by son, Eugene Hale Jr.; grandson, Phillip Red Eagle; great-grandson, Dustin Scott Jr.; siblings, Wilma Longee-Feather, Alfred Longee, Hazel Longee, Charles Longee, Merle Longee, Allen Longee and Minerva Alberts. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Rose Kollman and Verlynn Longee, both of Williston, N.D.; children, Jennifer Jones, Steven Jones III, Sonia Jones, Priscilla Jones, Tanya Jones and Anita Hale, all of Poplar, and Sarah Conquering Bear of South Dakota; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 14, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Burial was at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.

Clayton White


Clayton “Katy” Reed White (Mató Nadá – Chasing Bear), 23, of Frazer died Feb. 8, 2022, in Wolf Point. Clayton, son of Adeline and Robert White of Frazer, was born to Cynthia Follet and Harlan Flying on Aug. 20, 1998. He grew up in Frazer and attended school. He played football and basketball, attended open gym to lift weights and liked to shoot around with his classmates and friends. He loved spending time at home on Joe Butch Avenue with his family, laughing around and teasing with his sister, Sabrina. He would often bake cakes and cupcakes. He enjoyed playing video games and being outside playing basketball with everyone. He loved fishing and hunting with friends and his uncles. He loved to spend time with his grandma, Agnes Johnston. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jared Jackson. He is survived by his parents, Adeline and Robert White; sisters, Sabrina Smoker of Frazer, Chantelle Cox of Frazer, Shayna Barr of Wolf Point, Angeline White of Frazer, Elizabeth Smoker of Frazer and Latoya LaRoque of Frazer; and brothers, Jefferey Follet of Great Falls, Shannon BigLeggins Jr. of Wolf Point, The Joe Butch Brothers, Chiro Smoker, Curtis Smoker, Sheldon Smoker, Glenn BlackEagle, Christopher Mocassin, all of Frazer, Lionel White of Wolf Point, and Brad and Brett Clark. His funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Frazer Community Hall. Interment was at St. Jospeh Catholic Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.

Edward “Ed” Leon Mason, 70, died Feb. 8, 2022, at home in Wolf Point. He was born in Central Lake, Mich., on Feb. 17, 1942, youngest of three children of Vercil and Maud Mason, joining sisters Nancy and Helen. He graduated High School in Lakeview, Mich., in June 1960. He enlisted in the USAF in January 1961 and began his career as an aircraft mechanic. He married Diana Sloan in June 1961. His first overseas assignment was to Germany and their two children, Cerise Lynne and Edward Cash, were born there. He had a notable and distinguished career in the USAF and was the crew chief on various fighter jets, including the F104 and the F16. He served in Thailand in the Vietnam era. He was at Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany from December 1971 to June 1976, Edwards Air Force Base in California and at Keflavik, Iceland, from August 1977 to August 1979. His last assignment was to Cairo, Egypt, in 1982, where he served as senior maintenance advisor to the Egyptian Air Force for the Peace Vector Program. There, he met his future wife, Sandi. He retired from the Air Force at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, in January 1983 and started work for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, the following day. He and Sandi were married in Fort Worth, Texas, in August 1983, then had a church ceremony in Whitstable, Kent, England, in September 1983. They went to Venezuela in October 1983, where he was an integral part of the team that taught the Venezuelan Air Force to fly and maintain the F16. He then worked for Martin Matietta at Vandenberg Air Force Base, near Santa Maria, Calif., on the Peacekeeper Missile, then Rockwell on the B1B Stealth Bomber and finally returned to General Dynamics at Edwards Air Force Base in California, working as crew chief again on the F16. They moved back to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in 1993, this time for Sandi’s career and he worked as a mechanic until he retired in 2004. They were in Cheyenne, Wyo., for a year and, in October 2006, they finally moved to the house they had owned for years in St. Marie. They spent 11 very happy years in St. Marie, before Sandi’s job at the hospital brought them to Wolf Point in October 2017. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Glasgow. He loved being a grandfather and loved seeing his grandchildren. He had a passion for golf, enjoyed working on projects around the house and loved to travel. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Heidenthal; and sister, Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Sandi; daughter, Cerise) Heidenethal of Terry; son, Cash Mason of Castle Rock, Colo.; sister, Helen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Schwarzrock, 83, of Poplar died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point. Funeral services are pending under the direction of Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel.

Frank Diserly

Frank Diserly


Frank Donald Diserly, 46, of Poplar died on Feb. 2, 2022, in Billings at Billings Clinic. He was born on April 10, 1975, to Arlie and Gloria (Fast Horse) Diserly in Williston, N.D. He was the youngest of six children and given the Indian name “Nunpa-Ichanka” (Born Twice) by his grandfather, George Fast Horse. He grew up in Poplar and attended school there and in Brockton. He was a traditional dancer, placing at pow-wows. When he was six, he was asked to be a Poplar Indians mascot when they went to District B basketball tourney in Great Falls. He also loved to play basketball in middle and high school. Although he didn’t graduate, he received his GED in 1994. After receiving his GED, he went right to work being employed with such companies as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Buffalo Ranch, Animal Control and, for the past nine years, Fort Peck IRR. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, listening to music and getting on the Super Bowl boards for some instant money. He is survived by three sons and a daughter, Ervin, Michael, Tyreik and Frankie Ann; father, Arlie Diserly; brothers, Marvin Fast Horse, Danie Diserly and Randy Birthmark; sisters, Diana Tuttle and Dina Diserly; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Melvine Birthmark; and brothers, Harol Diserly and Kevin Birthmark. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Riverside Catholic Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
