Cowboys Stop Ekalaka To Improve To 2-1 For Season


Culbertson’s defense turned in a dominating performance in stopping Ekalaka, 62-6, in home Class C football action on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Cowboys’ defense took charge from the start when solid plays by Colin Avance, Reese Moon and Kobe Nickoloff stopped the Bulldogs on their first possession. Taking over on the Ekalaka 33, Culbertson scored on its second play on a 26-yard run by Nickoloff.

Cowgirls Earn Victory Over Nashua


Culbertson’s volleyball team rolled to a straight set home victory over Nashua on Thursday, Sept. 8. The Cowgirls posted a 258, 25-10, 25-14, win over their conference opponent. Culbertson used the strong serving of Koree Marchwick and net play of Destiny Thompson to jump out to a 7-0 lead in the first set. Kills by Makena Hauge and an ace by Perla Burciaga increased the margin to 11-5.

The Culbertson Cowgirls competed at the 14-team volleyball tournament held in Scobey on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Cowgirls opened pool play by falling to a solid Circle team, 6-25, 6-18.
