The Froid/Lake Red Hawks saw plenty of action during the first weekend of the volleyball season. In a five-set battle, the Red Hawks lost at home against Plentywood by a 16-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 13-15, final on Friday, Aug. 30. Mara Salvevold and Isabelle Nordwick led the Red Hawks’ attack and played well defensively. Froid/Lake then played at a tournament in Sidney on Saturday, Aug.

The Bainville Bulldogs opened their volleyball campaign at the Broadus Invitational in Glendive on Saturday, Aug. 31. During pool play, the Bulldogs won two of their four matches. Bainville fell to Forsyth by a 22-25, 14-25, final. Hailey Berwick finished with five kills in the match. The Bulldogs then downed Glendive’s JVs by a 25-15, 2510, margin.
