Froid/Lake Girls Beat Wildcats


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks completed a winning weekend in girls’ basketball by downing Plentywood, 50-42, on Saturday, Jan. 3. After holding an 11-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks scored 18 points in the second quarter for a 29-15 advantage. Atley Jensen scored 23 points to lead the Red Hawks’ attack. Laytyn Davidson also reached double figures with 10 points.

Cameras Added To Deputies’ Vehicles


Sixteen of the Roosevelt County Sheriff Office’s vehicles now feature dashboard cameras to benefit law enforcement in several ways. “It will help us be more professional,” Roosevelt County undersheriff John Summers said. “We’re becoming more modern.” County commissioners approved the purchase of the cameras for a total cost of $182,198 earlier this year. The strong wind storm on Dec. 17 caused a large tank to blow over on top of the building at the Select salt water disposal located a mile east of Bainville. The incident resulted in the entire place burning up. Wind guests that night included 72 mph in Wolf Point, 68 mph in Poplar, 71 mph in Sidney and 61 mph in Homestead. (Photo submitted)
