Kierstead Starts At Culbertson Library


The Culbertson Library has a new assistant librarian. Longtime local Jessica Kierstead started at the library Dec. 20. Said librarian Leona Colvin, “She’ll be taking over Story Hour and I think she’s got some really good ideas. She’ll be an asset.” Kierstead, who attended high school in Sheperd, Mont., worked for two years at the Sidney Herald before deciding to look for employment

Sidney Woman Reported Missing


Area law enforcement continues to search for a Sidney woman who was last seen by family members prior to Christmas. Katelynn Berry, 26, was reported as missing to law enforcement by family on Dec. 31. Anyone with knowledge of Berry’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local law enforcement office, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office at 406-433-2919, or the Sidney Police Department

The following are highlights from the previous year in the pages of the Community News. June The Culbertson School board replaced two varsity coaches during its monthly meeting held on Tuesday, June 15. Mark Pederson was hired to become the new head boys’ basketball coach. He was one of the program’s assistant coaches this past season. Trustees unanimously approved Pederson being hired.

County Enjoyed Many Sports Highlights During 2021


By Bill Vander Weele Many standout performances by individuals highlighted the 2021 sports year in Roosevelt County. Wolf Point’s Zander Ackerman and Jewel Olson captured state titles during the track season. Ackerman, who won the Class B state championship in cross country during the fall of 2020, finished first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs at the Class B state track meet. In addition,
