Area Flag Football Teams Play At State Tourney
The Wolf Point Wolves and Poplar Indians each competed at the state girls’ flag football tournament held in Bozeman on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27.
The Indians opened play with a 22-14 victory over Butte on Thursday.
Poplar then lost to a strong Lockwood squad, 27-14, in the quarter-final round on Friday. The Indians gained an 8-6 lead in the game but trailed 15-8 at the half.

Wolf Point Drops Conference Matches
The Wolf Point Wolves improved throughout the match but lost to a solid Malta volleyball team by a 13-25, 8-25, 21-25, margin on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Malta accounted for the match’s opening 10 points. Neva Jacobson served four aces during the stretch. Having kills were Denvyr Tuss, Ava Hanson and Hailey Welch.

Poplar Defensive Play Among Highlights In Loss Against Forsyth
Poplar’s defense turned in a standout effort in its 24-6 home loss against Forsyth on Friday, Sept. 20. The football game featured a storm delay of an hour and half.
Forsyth’s first possession included a fake punt for a first down and driving deep inside Poplar territory. The threat ended when a fumble was recovered by Walker Burshia at the Poplar 22.

Lady Wolves Fall To Scobey
Wolf Point’s volleyball team fell short in a home match against a solid Class C Scobey team on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Scobey scored a 25-10, 25-13, 25-14, victory in Wolf Point.
In the first set, the Wolves started strong as the serving of Karmyn Plain Feather led the way to a 5-3 lead.
Scobey, however, used the net play of Mady Willis, Emery Rouse and Cammie Holum to gain an 11-6 lead.
Lustre Knocks Off Frazer
After a tough first set, the Lustre Lions bounced back to defeat Frazer at home on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Frazer came out strong and earned the first set by a 25-18 final.
The Lions roared back for a 25-5 victory in the second set.
Lustre went on to win the final two sets by scores of 2516 and 25-14.
