Montana recorded its first suspected case of chronic wasting disease in wild elk Monday, Nov. 25. The cow elk was harvested by a landowner on private land northeast of Red Lodge earlier this month and samples were extracted from the carcass in Billings Nov. 6. Tests results confirming the suspected presence of the disease were returned to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the hunter on Monday.

Mary Bighorn Receives College Volleyball Honor Mary Bighorn, a 2019 Wolf Point High School graduate, was awarded second team all-conference in college volleyball in Kansas by the Association of Independent Institutions. The second annual Yellow Jackets Classic Men’s Open Basketball Tournament, slated to be held at Wolf Point High School Dec. 27-29, will benefit the Wolf Point Yellow Jackets Baseball Program. Entry fees from the tournament will be used for financial needs for the Yellow Jackets American Legion and Babe Ruth baseball programs. Needs include uniforms and equipment for players and repairs

Even though the summer season at Montana State Parks is over, plans for the management of those parks is really hitting its stride.
